What do you do when your best pup has a birthday? You celebrate in style!

It’s no surprise that many people might not get what the big deal is about a family pet having a birthday celebration or why some people make a big deal about it at all. On the other hand, however, it’s no surprise that many people DO get it and DO look forward to a reason to celebrate their family pet on their special day.

And that’s just it; A dog, a cat, a lizard…they’re the chosen family pet. Key word being FAMILY. Why wouldn’t a family birthday be cause célèbre?

When it comes to the family pet, canine companions are just as deserving of love and affection as much as any member of the family. For every joyous or momentous occasion given to a dog, that dog reciprocates tenfold. Canines comfort us in a way that they’ve been perfecting for at least 14,000 years! For some people, the comfort canines provide is what heals their mind and guides their body. That’s why they’re family.

For some people, the comfort canines give is the familiar warmth that shakes the days blues away. That’s why they’re the family some people look forward to come home to.

For some people, the comfort canines give allows them to grieve. That’s why they’re the only family someone might have.

For some people, the comfort canines give is absorbed. The person’s pain is then transferred, exchanged, and let go through the wag of a tail. That’s why they’re family.

For some people, the comfort canines give is an integral part of raising their children, their students, and their future minds that navigate and support an altruistic world. That’s why they’re family.

For some people, a dog is a dog is a dog…but to that dog, their person is always their family.

For ALL dogs, their people-family-are always reason enough to celebrate.

Happy Birthday, Topher Jo!
